I am considering getting an intake with a tuner and i wanted to see the opinions of the different intakes. I was inbetween the C&L intake with the diablo-sport tuner and the MMR with the SCT tuner. I know the C&L has the inlet pipe which i like, but is it worth the extra money? If anyone has any helpful advice please share. thanks

I like the looks of the C&L inlet, plust the Diablo is the most versital tuner, and it comes with a custom tune for it. Sounds good to me. Haven't heard of the JLT, gotta link?

Hey, thanks for the link. Pretty cool that they can paint the intake to match the car. How is the tune for the JLT? Any problems? Anyone with dyno numbers?

I haven't dynoed yet, but i can tell you this. With the Predator + Magnaflow Axle backs + stock wheels and tires I could power shift 1-2 with just barely a chirp. With the only changes being JLT + DTP tune on 295/35-19 I can no longer power shift 1-2 because it spun the tires enough to pitch me sideways at the track. I also picked up 3+ mph over my previous runs with the temp being +15 degress. Not bad in my opinion.

Having just been to C&L this past Friday, I would choose theirs with the DSPredator all inclusive kit. I had already purchased the Steeda CAI and a DSP. Although the Steeda is a nice design, the C&L fits better under the hood. I understand Sean Hyland has adapted the C&L intake pipe to the Steeda CAI, but I cannot figure out how. As I said, I went to C&L and we tried to see how it would mate up. Not a straight forward mod. It will involve some cutting of the Steeda heat shield and bracing the MAF housing/filter unit a little differently. I may consider this since the C&L intake tube is a very well designed unit, BUT the only thing I did not like is that it has a plastic heat shield. It is sturdy, but I would like to see a metal one like the Steeda. Also, the Steeda CAI mounts to the stock OEM rubber intake tube, so there is not a smooth an air flow as the C&L intake tube. I will take photos when I figure it all out.

On another note...the JLT is nothing but plastic for the most part. Not real sturdy looking to me and made of a PVC type material for the tube. Also, although the SCT X and now the SCT X II are decent pieces of tuner hardware, MY monies are on the Diablo Sport! My two cents....

C & L is what I went with. Great piece of hardware. Very easy and simple to install, and with that plus the tune... very, VERY nice increase in performance.

Of course, you probably can't go wrong with either one. I chose the C & L because I considered it to look more finished than the JLT. Also, there are a couple of places that are offering some pretty good deals on the intake package plus a Predator. I and others have found exceptional gains with it. Just as many people have found equivalent gains with the JLT. As I said, either would probably be a good choice.

Plastic may not last as long or be as sturdy as metal, but it doesn't absorb and hold heat as easily.
