Has anyone ever had a leak from or around the intercooler cap? Whenever I drive the car normal it doesn't leak. When I really get on it it leaks. I called Saleen warranty being my Saleen only has 1,200 miles on it. They sent a whole new intercooler reservoir to my local ford dealership to put on. I'm wondering if it is the top of the intercooler or just the cap? Has anyone had this issue or heard of it? Just curious.

It may just be the o-ring.You might try a little larger one and see if that helps.

In the next month or two lightning force performance will have both a heat exchanger and a super tank that will fit your saleen the super tank holds about 2 times more coolant than the saleen one does... they are the same ones that they sell for the cobras but fit the saleen.I have been using my 03 s281sc as a mock up car... check then out on the webwww.lightningforceperformance.com :flag:

I would just get the cap and tank from your dealer and try switching the cap first. That way, you can always sell the extra tank on eBay!

The thing is...the dealer won't let me change it myself. They said they have to switch it out. I was thinking the same thing.

Just make sure you get the old one, if possible?

    Intercooler cap leaking

I've replace the cap five times with the supposedly correct cap from ford - - it never fixed the problem. To fix it you'll need to add either need to add a different style of cap or add a O-Ring (I added a Fat O- Ring) that fixed mine.
    Sorry can't remeber the size.
    Good Luck
