Is there any sure way to connect an Ipod to a Mach 460 system? Someone posted that he connected it with some converter, but on that converter's website it said it didn't work with a 2001 Mach 460 system. Does anyone know the truth? Is there any other way to connect an Ipod? Would a Mach 1000 head unit (MP3 player) work with a Mach 460 system...and does anyone know where I can get the head unit? All I'm looking for is a way to play MP3's without having to replace the whole system. Thanks
there was a thread on svtperformance.com that dealt with this...do a search in the terminator forum for "ipod mach 460"
I called these guys and they said they had just the part to connect an mp3 player to the Mack 460. www.carplayer.com
or you can spend 30 bucks on a fm transmitter called an iTrip for your iPod. thats if you dont want it to work, because mine surely sounds like ass.
I tried that and it does sound like ass. Sometimes it'll sound ok, but most of the time there's alot of static.
You need a PIE adaptor. It converts the digital input from the MACh radio into RCA inputs. It's $70 and only works from 1999-2002 Mach 460 radios. It does NOT work on 2003+ models. You need model FRDN-AUX More info: http://www.pie.net/aux_ford.htm XM fan sell them: http://www.xmfanstore.com/showproduct.php?id=pieoem so does radio store: http://www.myradiostore.us/auxadapters/pie/factory/no-external-changer/frdn-aux.html
Finally installed the PIE converter and it works great. It's a real simple install too. Totally worth the 70+ bucks I paid.
