My mod's are in sig., and i also have sfc's, 3:73's with a trac lok rebuild and master bearing kit sitting in a closet waiting for install. Just wondering where i'll see some major gains from with my next mod.? I really want to do a HCI package setup, but its not in the budget right now. I'm thinking about maybe getting a cobra intake for now, but i'm worried about a mismatched combo in the future when i do get heads and cam. I'm leaning towards a cobra or typhoon intake for now, and then maybe sell it when the time comes for a hci package? I really like the looks of a holley systemax, but will this be too much for my setup right now? If i could get this, maybe i wouldnt have to buy a package and just get h/c in the future? just looking for some advice on the best way to go right now? i think my stock intake is really holding back some major HP right now, am i correct in assuming this being the biggest bottleneck?
I just got done installing my Cobra intake a couple of days ago but can tell you the car definately feels stronger. http://s59.photobucket.com/albums/g292/mmanns69/?action=view¤t=DCP01680.jpg
not "major hp", but it definitely picks up, especially over 3k! Go with an older cobra, see if you can get one that is not a CHinese POS. Plus it doesn't really matter how many miles are on an intake so you could pull one off an explorer for 100 or so bucks depending, that's what I did! BTW A cobra intake, a good cam, and afr165s can make 300 hp. A member on here has that combo and made like 301...
well he has ported heads so yeah it will definately help, you dont feel it alot on a stock car but with heads and an intake it wakes it up bigtime!!
I ran an edelbrock rpm intake, and it still had good low end power. It hurt the bottom end just a little, but it made the car a lot easier to launch and I picked up 4 tenths in the 1/4. I ran the rpms up a little higher than with the stocker intake though.
