So I am converting my 92LX to have an 85 SVO motor. The oxygen sensor that is in the SVO motor right now is a 3 wire. I picked up a new o2 at Kragen auto parts, when I got home the new bosch sensor only has one wire. I figured I must have received the wrong part so I went online and checked the part # on Bosch's website and it reccomends the sensor that Kragen gave me ( the one wire). Anyone with an 85 or 86 SVO know whether their o2 sensor is a one wire or three wire. Thanks!!

My 85 SVO is a 3 wire...I find 02 sensors to be hit or miss on 2.3T's...just look at what you have and keep throwing different years/cars out there until you get the right one...

    O2 sensor

Ont he 84 and 85 motor they use a 3 wire. On the 85.5 and 86 they use the single wire o2

If I want to swap computers from the 84 computer to a 86 computer do I have to change the oxygen sensor and connector from a 3 wire to a 1 wire?

Yes, or swap to an 87-88 TC computer instead and get the same HP increase for less money...and you can still use the 3 wire 02.

The 87-88 TC computer is easier to find (as stinger said ) cheaper, and people claim it has a slightly faster processor. I just dont undewrstand why people are so hot for the svo cpu? The LA3 is better IMHO. If you are going through the hastle it is your best bet.

So if I have a '87 stang with a '86 TC computer, I have to change my oxygen sensor and my connector to a single wire?? Or I can keep this one and swap my 0² sensor on the turbo exhaust?

Use the oxygen sensor that the car your ecu came out of uses...bottom line.

    86tc ecu = 86tc sensor
    88tc ecu = 88tc sensor
    etc.
