hey everyone.just want to say hi. i used to have a 2000 gt with alot done to her. but i ended up selling her to get a house arrrrrrrgggggg. i was not happy about that. but i knew i would get back into the game.wich brings me to now. actually i can't even remember if i ever posted on here before,so this might count as a newbie thread.lol... well now i have a 90 black LX 5.0. its got a 5spd pro 5.0 shifter,3.73 gears. the motor was re-ringed and the tranny was re-built.has new water pump, alternator, radiator, and a high torq starter. it also has BBK shorty equal length headers (what used to be chrome). i'm yankin them out in about 2 weeks, when i get my new exhaust.interior was shot. it has a 185 stat.the body is totally rust free and straight.i mean a real cream puff in that area. i paid 1,000.00 bucks for it and i haven't looked back since. i have totally gutted the interior.mainly to check the floors. but i did put a battery relocation kit in it. i just put a heater core in it this past weekend. new door lock actuators, new door handles, door to body and hatch area weather stipping,newer/cleaner stock seats and some other small detail stuff. all in all i am restoring her.oh and the rear seats are history, seat belts and all brakets are gone. i'm going to make a rear seat delete for it. imediate plans? well in about 2 weeks i'll have the exhaust done. i'm getting the pypes ceramic coated headers,o/r pypes x pipe, and pypes violator c/b other plans are a MM maximum grip susp. auburn rear w/ 31 or better axles. cobra 4 wheel 5 lug disk brake conversion.all new stainless brake lines and fuel system. the motor will be a N/A 347 with 10.5:1 compr.stroker.then new paint and wheels etc. well sorry it was so long. but its alot goin on. here are some pics. the ones of the out side of the car are from the day i brought her home. the int is current. i'll have the int (black and gray now) it will be put back in real soon.thanks for reading. jay.
wow great deal for 1000 bucks, Looks like a great starting point for your project and it seems you know what you want out of it, just keep us posted on the progress!!!
thanks guys. i couldn't believe the awesome foundation of this thing when i saw it. its got 172k on it but judging from the condition of the body its been taken care of. i can't wait to get the floor fixed. oh. the driver seat, driver side seat bolt has come away from the box and i'm getting a new plate welded in. also will have it re-threaded.but once that is done i'll put the interior back together and post some pics. wait till u see it. its gonna be like night and day. also i'll have a video clip of the exhaust,b/c that'll be done too. all in all i should have the clip and pics up in about 3-4 weeks. jay.
