I definitely dont like ridiculously loud cars, & honestly, it didnt get any louder than an o/r H/X with stock manifolds in a normal driving. But when u step on it, ITS LOUD!!!! I noticed that the longtubes smooth out the tone & actually make the car feel like its running smoother....I recently swapped out the shorty o/r X for an H & I think the car sounds perfect now.... I would get some clips with the H pipe, but I recently broke my camera....

heres the clips from when I had the X on it though....

haha, thats pretty loud, cause im doing the PI swap starting sunday on the 98 GT, and since its out, imma slap on some headers. Prolly bbk shorties. with the mac X, and the spintech prostreets, i hope i dont grab to much attention round here in Fontona.....cause....im a white boy....and its not so white around here lol. thats enough attention as it is.

HEY!!! Im a white boy too LOL!!!

Seriously, it sounds alot louder in the videos than it does in person...Dont waste your time on shorties, since u got the motor out, do the LT's. I take it its not your DD?? If u want it quiet, throw some dynomax mufflers on it....

no, the 03 is, just because its just a lot smoother to drive around. And its kinda late with the headers, already bought them. I wanted to do LT's, but that would mean id have to change the x-pipe again, and thats something i dont have money for right now, but LT's on the 03...that'll happen hopefully in the summer.

and lol, the white kid thing, hahaa, its cool ur white...hahah WHITE PRIDE, lol jk, but Fontana......im not sayin i have a problem with mexicans n all.....but usually....i get some nasty looks around here, especially drivin around the 98/ 03 round here, a lot of them are still stuck on the honda civics and integras, like old school ones, and u know those kinda people, they wanna race everyone and everything, then when they loose, they're like "ay puto...wsup..you gotta ****in problem" thats some crap ive dealt with, maybe about 4 times since ive moved here....in the summer lol.

Dont get me wrong, u should see some slight gains with the shortys, but not as much as LT's.

    Mach1. mac longtubes, UPR o/r X, & bassani catback....Idle, Rev's, & takeoff!!

    :nice: This sounded awesome...

I guess what I am really after I will have to be the ginneau(?) pig for... So far no one on here has heard of the ARK cat-back... I love the way this thing sounds as it sits... I will get a video camera soon and do some video of it w/ just the exhaust as it sits...

I have talked to people locally and they swear by the sounds/gains of the JBA LT's, so I will probably get those and a short H-pipe w/ converters... I have to have at least 2 converters due to e-checks here or until they rule them out becuase I'm not going to **** around with swapping out mid pipes year in and year out, forget that. So, maybe in the near future I'll buy the rest and just get it done and if I dont like it then I'm stuck with it :(

    Thanks!!!:D

U wont regret the longtubes...If u want to run cats, u should get a catted pipe for smog time & an o/r pipe for the rest of the time. With longtubes, its sooooo easy to swap midpipes since all the bolts are right there under the car....It literally takes like 10 minutes once the car is jacked up....

I work in the automotive field so we have lifts readily available... putting the O/R H pipe that I have now on there sucked with the factory mani's but it was loud as hell... almost too loud, like an obnoxious loud...

So I guess my Q is this... from youtube and all that, listening... would you say JBA or MAC? (LT's)

JBA quality is better, but honestly nothing is wrong with Mac's quality & its much cheaper. I honestly I dont see a reason to spend $1000 on headers alone. Yeah they might be 409 stainless, & they have a better collector, but Im perfectly fine with the quality & power gains of my mac's. Plus, Macs are less than half the price of those & the ground clearance is better, something thats important if your car is lowered....

Yea they are expensive but I didn't pay that much for mine. My friend is a dealer so I got them for like $600. My ground clearence seems pretty good. Im not lowered but I think I could drop 1.5-2" and still be safe.

i have the slp l/t and their catted midpipe. magnaflow catback. love how quiet it is. im not trying to gain attention from cops more then i already do.

the slp set up hangs kind of low so i also have not dropped the car yet. still thinking about how much lowering i can get away with.

as far as power l/t kill shorties!!!!!!! shorty headears migh gain you 7-8rwhp. my l/t gained me 15rwph. this was proven on the same dyno i always go to. we did a before and after.

now that 15rwhp is not the good part....its all the rwtq you will gain with l/t. now LISTEN UP!

at 3200 rpm i gained 26rwtq. at 3500 rpm i gained 23rwtq. then the rest of the rpm range it gained from 7-15rwtq.

but you really get a nice kick in the lower where you are driving a lot. that is just the headers. expect another from a mid pipe and catback.:nice:
