the passenger door doesnt lock. The power locks dont work on that door and can't close it manually. Its jammed somewhere. does anyone have any experience with this. What kind of suspension upgrades can i do. I wanna keep the stock shocks and springs cuz they ride nice but the body roll is killing me. any suggestions for sway bars, sub-frame connectors. By the way its a 91 lx 5-speed
For the door- your power lock actuator is siezed. If you pull the door panel off, you'll be able to get in there and pull it out. For the suspension, just find some swaybars off a 5.0, they'll bolt right in and they help a LOT.
Had the same problem with my drivers side door. I removed the door panel, used lots of WD-40, and manually locked/unlocked it a few times to get it going smooth. It was hard to get it un-stuck. I think I pulled on the rod that goes to the manual lock. Or maybe closer to the lock mechanism - You will figure it out. I still have issues with it from time to time. I haven't had to remove the door panel again though.
thanks thanks guys ill take a look at that. Has anyone upgraded the swaybars to gt's did they help a lot
took off the door panel took it off and started trying to push the rod down. how hard should i press on it. i dont wanna break it. should i take a screwdriver to the clip and try it that way. its parked on the street need some help fast.
Don't worry too much about breaking it. If push it close to the lock it shouldn't bend under pressure. I really can't remember everything about when I did it. I didn't use a screwdriver though. Just keep going harder until it un-sticks. Good Luck
Be careful though. The hinge that holds the actuator to the door, is made of plastic, and when I had this problem i accidently broke it. And you can't just buy the hinge (well I couldn't)
