I ran my 2004 Cobra on the dyno and I WASN'T too impressed. I got a start of 377 RWHP and after it was tuned a little I ended up with 409 RWHP. Is this that BAD? I'm running a predator custom tune, Magnaflow "X" Pipe & CAT Back and a STEEDA CAI. Everything else is STONE STOCK. My AFR ran around 12.2 to 11.8 from 2,000 rpms to 6,400 rpms I wished I could of gotten more but I'm not racing and I just drive it on the weekdends and I don't hammer it or run it at the track or strip. I seems to have more response and I'm glad to know I wasn't running lean in certain areas and that I now know what I am getting for TRUE RWHP! We love our little car and it gets the best of care and attention.

Gary, is that SAE or STD? What are your TQ #'s? Those #'s are what most people see with your mods and the Predator tune. The car is running good and safe, what more could you ask for.( more power, I know !!!!! ) :D Mike.

    SAE was 409 rwhp

Dr. WU, that was SAE at 409 rwhp. It's close to your numbers and so as you said it's SAFE HP and why ****! Saturday I'm installing a LFP heat exchanger to try and lower the heat in the motor and the h.e. issue. The next this is I'm thinking about installing the weld on Frame stiifeners or what do they call those parts that make the frame more rigid? I might try the HIGH OUTPUT water pump and that will be it! That will about do it for a while. Does Dr. WU have ant other suggestions for a 55 year old teenager?

Those additional mods sound good. I am also thinking about a heat exchanger also. I am still researching it. I don't know if what mods we have it will actually improve anything. Pullied or KB cobra's I would think it is a must. Now get out on the street and run that thing !!!

Those numbers sound pretty stout to me. :D

BTW - Those "weld on frame stiffeners" that you were talking about were probably "subframe connectors." :) Opt for the full-length versions instead of the standard ones. More info here: http://www.maximummotorsports.com/sfc.asp

HP is probably where it should be. I have the #'s in my sig with just a magnaflow catted X, FR500 catback & a K&N FIPK. Stock tune & pulley.

Remember heat & humidity will affect your #'s also.

I thought the hp should be a little higher but that is still crazy....409 that's nothing to be ashamed of....

Ha, hah, ha ... only in 2004 with the latest Cobra would people ask is 400+rwhp good? :rlaugh:

Good question, considering the mods but I think it's funny.

55yr old teenager ... get out there and enjoy!! :D

Don't think the loss is that severe.... but I would have thought the predator tune would have added a bit more, people seem to be putting down 410'ish numbers with just the CAI, X, and catback. Sounds like its time for a pulley swap.

409rwhp is actually pretty pathetic, you should be ashamed and should trade that car in for another Cobra, it's obviously got a bug from the factory.

With the mad hp my 97 snake be makin', and with the weight advantage of my all aluminum engine and solid axle suspension, theres no doubt I would walk you in the quarter mile.

I see most #'s around 390-395 with the normal mods w/out Predator tune.
Seems like the Predator gives around 15-20 extra horses plus big tourqe down low with rock steady A/F. :nice: I think it's worth the $400. Every car is different so results will vary.

I’m selling a new one on e-bay right now for $299.00 :nice:
It’s the new model with increased adjustability. I paid $400.00 for it last week but the tuner used a chip instead so I don’t need it.
