just got frpp 3.73's and a motive bearing kit theyll be going in tomorow!!! any tips for the install?
12 pack of soda? haha. just take your time, be patient, have a 5# sledge available in case the old pinion wont come out. and dont let people here scare you. its not a hard job, just takes time. be sure to sand the housing and cover off before you re-seal it as well.
you need a dial indicator. From my personal experiences set the backlash to .011. I have installed a lot of gears and on fords found this to be best for noise free operation also record the backlash on the gears your removing for if they are used again by anyone
Dude your gonna love them! Oh and don't bull chit, i drank beer at 17 Let us know how they feel with the cams
well we just finished up, it went pretty good, and the is NO whine, grinding, or vibrations he just has a little balder tires now
Sweet dude thats cool, so he likes them? I love my 3.73's. I still have enough 1st gear to actually use it. I mean its JUST enough, but they are great for a DD
