just got 3.73's!

    just got frpp 3.73's and a motive bearing kit:nice: theyll be going in tomorow!!! any tips for the install?

    12 pack of soda? haha. just take your time, be patient, have a 5# sledge available in case the old pinion wont come out. and dont let people here scare you. its not a hard job, just takes time. be sure to sand the housing and cover off before you re-seal it as well.

    you need a dial indicator. From my personal experiences set the backlash to .011. I have installed a lot of gears and on fords found this to be best for noise free operation

    also record the backlash on the gears your removing for if they are used again by anyone

    well we just finished up, it went pretty good, and the is NO whine, grinding, or vibrations:nice:

    he just has a little balder tires now:p

    Sweet dude thats cool, so he likes them? I love my 3.73's. I still have enough 1st gear to actually use it. I mean its JUST enough, but they are great for a DD

    Yea I was drinkin beer before 17... couldn't even finish 1 whole one LMAO... So have fun with the install.. I paid someone to do mine.. But I imagine that would be a fun job
