Ok, long story. Last year my mom and sister moved from Arkansas to Tucson. My sister needed a car so I loaned her one of my Focus's. (Dont ask how I ended up with 2 of them) I helped them move in the biggest of the big U-Hauls. All thier stuff didnt fit so some of it was here in storage. Friday I loaded a 14ft U-Haul with thier stuff and headed to Little Rock-Texarkana-Dallas-Big Spring, 750 miles one way. I left Fri noon, got to Big Spring about 2am Sat morning. Grabbed a hotel for about 6 hours sleep. Gave my sister the U-Haul, she gave me the Focus, and I hauled ass back home, got here at 7:30 tonight. 1500 miles roundtrip, I bet I saw 100+ Stangs on the road. I was in Dallas about 7pm Friday night and saw 2 really nice 93 Cobras on I-30 about 10 minutes apart. I wonder if those guys are on here and if they know each other. I being in a U-haul was probley being cussed. One of the Cobras had ricer tail lights. Why?, Why?, Why? Today in Texarkana I met a guy in a nice SN95 Stang at a gas station, he was just back from marine corps bootcamp and just picked the Stang up. I was on I30 just East of Texarkana and glanced over at a rest area, I saw a 05 Yellow Stang, couldnt tell if it was a GT, I was doing about 85 and just caught it out of the corner of my eye. It was a nice day, I saw about 7 or 8 05 Verts. I even saw a 79 Pace car somewhere just west of Dallas in a guys driveway. To bad I didnt have time to stop and chat. Funny, Stangs seem to be the only cars I notice unless its something really unusual.
I'm noticing a lot more stangs too. There's at least five of us at my job, tho it's a big company. Most of them are 6ers, but I see a fair number of GTs also. Saw one yellow w/ black stripes, and I think a Steeda spoiler. I expect to see lots lots more come spring. But at the moment, we're rare enough to give each other approving nods.
Suddenly 05 / 06 Mustangs are everywhere. Yesterday on a 20 min drive I saw 3 of them. - 2 GTs & 1 V6 Today on a 10 min drive I saw 2 of them - both GTs.
I feel we also tend to notice things we own or want more often as well though... Hence they seem to be everywhere... A lot of people have them, but there are days that go by that I dont even see one in Austin bumper to bumper traffic on my 20 mile in and 20 mile out commute. Cant wait to have my very own... Two people at work have one, but neither are GT's. Surprisingly only two in the several thousand that work here...
I still hardly ever see other GT's in the Knoxville area. HEck.. I only see a few V6's. Probably because the damn dealers are still asking over sticker except at one dealership.
