    Hi everyone,

Got a question: I have the typical codes (P0133/0153 - Oxygen Sensor Circuit Slow Response (bank 1 & 2). There is some good info on this site so I have read a lot. My question is about getting a tune for the long tubes. The typical battery reset used to work...now 5 miles after every reset the car is almost undriveable, bucks and hesitates...almost pops out of gear.

    1. Can the car be tuned on the factory chip? or do you need an add-on? Can my ford dealer do it?

    2. Can I just order one of the many chips recommended here? (with a phone call as to what my problem is). I need a chip for the 4.10 gear speedo anyway. Not really planning any other mods in the near future.

Nearest tuner is 3 hours away (Phoenix or San Diego) and I have checked for leaks, connections, bad 02's etc...so I am assuming its a LT Header/02 sensor issue.

    Thank you,
    Mike

1.) You don't want it tuned by the Ford dealer.
2.) It may fix it but it sounds like you have other problems. Bucking and hesitation shouldn't occur from installing longtubes.

nothing new...all exhaust work done at the same time, about 6 months ago. When the SES light is reset (batt unplugged overnight) the car runs fine (maybe a tiny bit of what sounds like a misfire or the traction control kicking in) but as soon as the SES light comes on...the car starts running like crap. Used to be able to reset the SES and it would take a couple of days for it to return...now it comes on within 20 miles and the codes are always P0133/P0155.

    Thanks for the replies...

I believe that an exhaust leak could cause the problems he is experiencing.

I would say to get a tuned chip. I have a Diablo and they tune in everything, Including brand, type, and measurments of your headers. If I had to do it I would deffenitly try that.
