I drive a 2005 Mustang GT daily. Only mods so far have been a steeda cai and intake tube, and slp loudmouths. I'm interested in buying a new set of headers but I'm having a difficult time deciding what to get. I know longtubes will make more power over shorties, but roughly how much? I live in south louisiana so getting away with driving longtubes and cats everyday shouldnt be a problem. I was just unsure of how much power a pair of shorties will make, when compared to longtubes. Any input will be much appreciated. Thanks

if $300+ is worth about 5 hp, get the shorties. if you want more power, get the longtubes. for the amount of work needed to install the shorties, and the amount of power gained, i wont waste my time.

I have shorties (already on the car when I bought it used) and all they really do is add a few hp/tq and give it a different sound. Other than that they really aren't worth it. Go long tubes or save your money for other mods.

I had long-tube headers insatlled, but am preparing to remove them and put back the original exhaust manifold (headers?). The reason: I cannot get rid of DTCs and CELs, and am informed that the mfgr, JBA, says it can't be done. The car is registered and driven in NY. Any different experiences or opinions?
