I've got a 2002 vert v6 with the mach 460 system, unfortunately, the previous owner replaced the mach speakers with a very cheap set of kickers (and did a really bad job at it, too), so I'm ditching the whole mach system and putting my own in. I've modified the original enclosures for the rear woofers by adding some soundproofing, but I was wondering if anyone had any idea about the front door woofers. I don't believe there's a factory enclosure for them (I haven't seen any photos, and I don't really know), so does anyone know where i can get some? Or am I stuck with making them myself?
I just took mine out today, and there wasn't any enclosure, just the plastic bracket the speaker attaches to. http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u31/BlueNotch/002-12.jpg
Hmm that blows. Any idea where to get one? Or am I stuck making one? I can't stand that my door panels vibrate. And if they vibrate with the Mach speakers, I'm damn sure they're going to vibrate with my new alpines.
Mine vibrate really bad too. You could try using dynamat. For an enclosure, you could try the foam baffles from crutchfield, but can't say for sure they'll work. The best option would probably be to make something with fiberglass.
It's gonna' be a PITA to fab the 'glass and keep it out of the way of your window when it's down. I'd start with the dynamat...
Yeah that's probably true, but I'm not seeing many other solutions, and I don't want to risk any vibration in the door at all. Plus, dynamat is pricey lol.
