    Hey All----

Got a question, I have an 03 Mustang GT with the Mach 1000 audio system. I was under the impression it could play MP3s but apparently I was wrong. Can someone confirm if the Mach 1000 headunit will play MP3s? If not, does Ford make a Mach 1000 MP3 player? I know there is a MP3 player out there, but I dont believe it is Mach 1000 capable (It's missing the Mach 1000 button, and it has a Mute button in its place).

    Thanks,
    JP

It won't. The mach 1000 is a mach 460 w/ an amp and 2 subwoofers in the trunk.

Wow that sucks  , thanks for the answer though. Any idea how much I can get for selling the entire system? Will the speakers and tweeters work with an aftermarket headunit or do they have some kind of odd Ohm reqiurement?

    Thanks again

yea, they will work on an aftermarket unit. i had the Mach460 in my Bullitt. now i have an Alpine CDA9813 head, 1000watt amp, and JL 10" W6v2 sub. they needed to do a lil rewiring to use the existing amps(powered interior speakers) that came with 460. didnt cost that much, if anything, to rewire. i thought it was worth it. kinda miss the 6 disc changer though...

I'm in the same boat as you jprez. Thought Mach 1000 headunit could play mp3, but it doesn't. While we are on the subject of mp3s... I recently bought a mp3 player, and trying to figure out how to connect it to the headunit. Does anyone know if there is a AUX input adapter for the Mach 1000 headunit?

    Thanks

The Headunit that CAN play mp3's is the one i have. I have stock Mach...Not 460 Not 1000....Just Mach. Its standard and the Mach460 and Mach1000 Are optional but comes with no mp3 capability.

that's pretty wierd, the upgraded stereo has less features than the standard. I'm going with the standard one for the MP3 playing and not having to rip out the entire system to upgrade.
