Can anyone tell me where the tweeter/midrange amp is located on a 2004 GT. Its suppossed to be under the radio in the center console, but I can't find it. Did the location change in 04? Thanks for your help.

If i remember correctlty on the newer mach 460's the tweeters are powered off the headunit and then you got two amps underneath the rear deck if it is a coupe or underneath the vert well if it is a vert.

I think it may be in that big black POS that hangs from the rear deck. Dont remeber if there were 2 or just 1 amp in mine when I took it out...really did not care

I've got an o3 convert and there's 2 under the bag. Not sure why there's 2 though. Anyone know?

Each amp does two speakers one front and one rear, then your headuint powers the 4 tweets. Dan

    saxman,

I was just out farting around with those amps. Any idea why when I unplug the one on the driver's side no sound change happens?

There will still be two speakers workin plus all the tweets when you unplug one amp, could be you just don't notice it or perhaps a speaker is bad and is not playing all the time anyways one amp does each side if i remember correctly, unplug the amp and then listen carefully to each speaker i would bet you just don't notice when you unplug it. saxman,
you are right. Man, the subs are so subdued. I don't know why it needs four of them. Seems like just 2 in the back would sound better. Then replace the 2 up front with a good 3-way.
