After reading http://www.magnaflow.com/05news/magazine/05hotpg02.asp and listening to a few sound clips, I ordered up a pair. I was worried about possibly losing low end and more $$$ with a full 2.5" kit so this was a good option for me.
$160 shipped and I paid $55 for the installation. You can see right thru the mufflers, just a slight bend in the inside, I'm sure they flow great.
I don't have a soundclip for you, but I will try to make one and post a link to it. They sound like the stockers at ilde, maybe a tiny bit deeper but quiet. When you get on it though...OH WHAT A SWEET SOUND!
I just installed a WMS Velocity intake yesterday and today I had the Magnaflows welded on. Catchin rubber in 2nd is easier and the sound it's just what I wanted. Great value for $215 installed

Two years ago I did exactly the same thing, had the magnaflow muffs welded in and have been very happy since then. As you say at idle or normall driving not much different from stock but at wot they sing. I mainly did this becasue I didn't want to get rid of my factory exhaust tips as I like them better than on any aftermarket cat back.
