anybody used meguiars deep crystal car wash? i've gotten some from wally world and just wonderin if it will do a good job. btw i've gotten a leather drying shammy and i was wonderin if neone had any tips for using it....it cost 14 bucks so i dont know if its high quality or not. last one i had i let sit outside and it got hard then i lost it somehow. neway any tips for drying washing car? NEED TIPS FOR CLEANING MY TURBINES!!!! there are so many surfaces on the turbine wheels its nearly impossible to clean.....any tips for easy cleaning on em?
meguiars is a pretty good product, my friend uses it on his black acura rsx all the time. I just use either mothers, meguiars, or i have tried black magic, not sure if i like it.
meguiars i guess for the turbines you could just get a brush and a lot of wheel cleaner. let the cleaner soak for a minute, then aggitate it with a brush, and hose it off.
I use to use this stuff called alumabright on my rims. THE STUFF WORKS MIRACLES! I would spray it on my rims starting at the top moving across and down wait 1 minute then wash off with a pressure washer or a water hose and the rims would shine. It would clean anything ,and make it shine, except windows with out scrubbing and without damaging the paint. the first time i had a friend buy a 5 gallon bucket and when that ran out i got a 30 gallon drum but now im out and cant find anymore. My friend got it from some industrial supply place but i cant find anywhere that can get it. If anyone knows where i can get some let me know. Mike74911@aol.com
Ive used this car wash and I will admit its probably the best by Meguiars that Ive used to date. I still think that RainX car wash and wax is on par with this stuff but thats to be expected since the RainX uses wax beed technology in its wash. Anyhow, best way to wash your car is in sections. First, pre-soak the car. Next, start cleaning your car as you normaly would. After cleaning a section such as a door, hood, or roof, then get the hose and lightly spray the soap off. You can allow it to set too for a minute or so might I add to help increase the cleaning effect. Be sure to keep the rest of the car wet too so no water spots develop. After successfully cleaning the car and washing it down, you might want to use the soap/water mixture in the bucket with an old rag to clean your wheels. I do this and my wheels stay cleaner than every before. For drying, the best combo is an absorber/chamois and water blade. Use the water blade to remove large puddles of water off the entire car and follow up with the chamois/absorber to remove the excess drops. You might also want to open and shut the trunk, doors, and maybe even the hood to get all the water out of the cracks. When ringing out your absorber/chamois be sure to ring it out extensively with lots of twisting pressure. This helps get all the water off for more abosrbency.
Meguiars is great. I use all their products and only their products. The crystal wash does a great job and it even smells good. As for drying, lay the shammy out flat on the surface of the car and simply pull it along the car. For that price, it should work just fine. Make sure to ring the shammy out after it gets really wet. When entire car is dry, sit back and watch it shine!
More Important than the brand name or series is the contents of the carwash. High akaline content car wash such as Turtle Wax Zip Carwash will eat wax off more agressively than say mequiars gold class shampoo. For a lot less money you could just use johnson and johnson baby shampoo, as it won't strip wax. - Pwr
Baby shampoo? That has conditioners and stuff ment for human hair, I don't think it would be the best for sutomotive paint, but that's just my opinion. Anyway, I love meguiars rich suds car wash. For rims, I use Meg's Hot Rims. It got through probably 20,000 miles of brake dust (I bought my car used) on my rims. It works great, imo. For heavy dirt, spray it on, and use a soft brush (I use a toothbrush to get between everything) to brush off heavy deposits...
My vote goes to Hot Rims too, that stuff worked miracles on my old 10 holes.....literally ate through old grime that like 4 other rim cleaners left behind. Would probably be good for your turbines too because I've found lots of times I don't even have to scrub very hard, I just let the foam sit on there for a few mins and then hose it off.
