Had my brother and a few friends over for a poker party/ BBq yesterday for a Memorail day weekend get together. My one friend is a die hard VW nut  and busts my chops about having an old, "slow" RWD car that isn't even on the road yet. SOooooo it was time to show off some of the little "Superpinto's" progress before the $ started changing hands. :D My brother grabbed my old digital camera so got a couple of pics, too bad he didn't bring his or I would have been looking for a place to host video instead. I really need to do something about that dreaded one wheel peel though

Needless to say he changed his mind about the "slow" part :D

The 3.00 open is on the list of things needing to be upgraded, low cash flow so I'm stuck with the one tire frier for a while yet. Also on the list are wider wheels and tires the stock 13's just go tooooooo easy (on that one side :( )

such a great smell :) Only to be joined after that by the smoker going in the back yard with some ribs and chicken a little bit later on. :nice:

I put a stock car mini spool in my II. I did it as a tempory measure, but I find that I love it and there is no plan to change it. The mini spool is about $50.00 and it can be installed in your driveway with no special tools. The only driveability problems are durring low speed stuff like parallel parking. High speed corners are fine. It tracks well through the rain. The spool takes the place of the differential and locks both axles togeather. I think the II is small and light enough to get away with it. I think if you tried it in a heavy car you would likely snap axles. If you do go with it check your axles on the off season. Two very hard summers on mine and the axles are fine so far. (I painted lines on them and I check to make sure the axles are not twisted). Not only will you not have one wheel peel you can out drift any Silvia :D

I have a mini-spool in the garage, for the II, but I'm kinda charting into some scary waters, I have never opened up a rear end.

With no plans to use the Mach as a daily driver I might have to look into that. There's not much along the lines of parallel parking to worry about where I'm at soooo...
But like IICrazy it would be a new experience opening up the rear, then again this was the first motor I have done and that seems to have turned out pretty well...
