well first off i want to say that this was not a race really so no one gets up set. however, i was next to one to day driving and as i put my blinker on to change lanes he accelerated. so, i at the light next to him, light turned green we both went. i went through 1st and 2nd gear slowly and was about 2 cars ahead of him. then i threw my blinker to get over and look in the pass side mirror. i see him comming very fast so i dont get in his lane. instead i gave the stang some gas in 3rd gear. by the time i started gassing he was caught up to me and we were side by side. so i gave it even more in third (didnt floor it ever). however, i was not pulling him. i shifted to 4th and still didnt pull him (still didnt floor it) id say i went 3/4 thrittle at best. i let off before we were going too fast. point is i was very shocked that this car was that fast. i looked it up on the internet to see what it has and it wasnt very impressive. decent for an older model. anyway, i didnt floor it but im trying to figure if anything else came into play here. im not too good at physics but do you think his already fast pace to catch up to me before i got on it a bit had anything to do with it? i caught him at another light to go a bit from a dig but he didnt really go.
Even though he weighs more than you/us (3635 lbs), he also has a little more HP to boot. Also, he probably got up to speed when you were cruising. To actually pull on another car, you need a good deal more HP than the other car.
well, it was an older model so i dont think it had more power then me but i guess i could be wrong. i know the newer ones can get a factory supercharger as an option. i dont think one had that though. i think you are right he had alot of momentum comming up on me before i ever steped on the gas. plus i didnt floor it. i just wanted to see what it really had at the light because it took me by supprise and got me interested.
Only the e55 (e-series that is) is SC from the factory. Don't even bother with that one....it can give mildy modded 03' Cobras some lickings. The 07' version is even more wicked....6.3L, 507HP/465TQ. Link: MB E63
those things are sick. me and a buddy always go check out this bi turbo v-12 mecedies (not sure on the #). IT IS THE BADDEST THING ON THE PLANET!!! looks bad ass, its amg, its like a big mafia car, v12 with twin turbos. its clost to 200,000 bucks around here. naw, the thing was rollin with me was a piece of junk next to these cars. i know my car was the faster car i just dont like trying on the street too much. once in a while. on that note it was a quick little sucker though more then i expected. i didnt give it full throttle because i honestly didnt think i needed to, figured id play with him. turns out i needed more throttle .....underestimation
its the CL-65 V-12 bi-turbo which puts out 604HP and 738 FT/lbs TQ and they also have that same motor on the SL-65.....and they are wicked fast i know i use to work for mercedes ......if any of you ever decide to get one get a mercedes get the AMG models form any class
