Well I have confirmed that my car was stored in a barn by the previous owner. I always wondered why one of my injector wires had a repair. Last night I was cleaning and taking the engine apart and discovered feces and a nest I used the pictured extension on my shop vac to remove the feces and nest material. I had to take off the intake, TB, blower elbow, and the rail that all the crap is mounted on the driver's side. If you look into the deep crack in these pics you can see yellow/brown discoloration. This is the remnants after I cleaned all the mouse feces out of the crack. I shined up the fuel rails while I was in here also Below the elbow there was nest material, quite a bit of it actually. Very time consuming to get it all out. Unfortunately you cannot see it in the pic: Cleaned TB while it was off, these are the nasty before pics: I took the stamped steel "rail" off that was holding all the vacuum actuated sensors and switches. The nut holding it on the back of the EGR stud was very difficult to get off. The rail is all rusty, must paint it... Sanded and masked off time for some Krylon Hanging to dry but it is only 35 degrees in my garage, what to do... Wife is like WTF are you doing with my oven??? Oh man it looks like brand new now Cannot see it too good but the "rail" is reinstalled and it looks much better I HATE MICE
It indeed took way more time than I wanted it to. Pretty much the whole weekend was spent cleaning and correcting situations. And last weekend... And half my weeknights... Eventually I will get ahead of it all.
Hell you were half way there... should have just gone ahead and removed the SC too and sent it all off to Stieg for some porting! U.M.
Better make sure you have an extra set of intercooler bolts before you start that little project! There's a special method for removing them and even when followed carefully many people snap one off during the process. U.M.
If you do a search you can find the supercharger installation & removal instructions on many of the 03/04 specific Cobra forums. Or you can wait and I'll post them when I get home from work if you want. There's a specific method outlined in those instructions on how to remove these bolts. Either way I don't believe they are reuseable once they've been removed. U.M.
Ohhhhh ****. I can see the upcoming threads now. "Looking for instructions on how to put an Eaton M112 back together" "What's this part for???" ....and my favorite. " '04 Cobra for sale.....cheap!!!"
It makes sence now. I have a injector wire on my truck that is bare i had to fix. There was also mice crap on the intake. It is all starting to make sense. I hate mice aswell.
