middle model for the mustang?

    Has there been any dicussion of a mid-model mustang like the mach 1 or bullitt beyond 05? It looks like Ford is going to try to get a cobra out by 07, but I havn't heard anything about a mid model between the GT and cobra.
    My dad is planning to buy a new mustang in the next couple years, and was hoping they would offer a mid-model in 06.
    Speaking of the cobra, any guess about what we'll see? I would expect another blown 4v 4.6 with a bit more hp, but it would be interesting to see a blown 5.4. hehe

    wouldnt count on it... maybe in years to come, after the new cobra's

    At one of the '05 Mustang events a Ford engineering manager told me that there are plans for several Special Editions like a Mach 1 model.

    There may be a SE next year, but it will be little more than stripes & decals.

    The '07 SVT Cobra will be the 1st SE with more HP, due out in mid '06.

    After the Cobra the next SE may be a "mid-model" with more HP than the GT, but less than the Cobra.

    Of course ANY and ALL future plans are subject to change. So :shrug:
