seen threads like this in other forums so why not here.

here are some i have done that i regret:

c&l meter--love the inlet pipe, hate the meter
cobra brake upgrades(already had cobra brakes, but upgraded them)
any mod that i did to keep my car "daily driver friendly"---by that i mean almost every mod i did i could have been alright with choosing the more agressive component. ie, i replaced my eibach pro-kits with coil-overs, mach 1 shocks/struts with illumina's, tfs1 cam i wish i had gone bigger, 3.73's i wish i would have done 4.10's or 4.30's, etc...

Short tube headers. Absolutely retarded. No actual power gain... just exhaust tone. I wish like hell I had spent the money on long tubes.

65mm TB. Should have just waited, done a Fox TB conversion, and run the 75mm accufab.

Buying the same parts twice sucks.

My regrets are soon to come .....

Wait, I do regret buying the bullet lug nuts. Don't worry Mike, you didn't make a bad recommendation. They look awesome. Only problem is .... I tend to be the insane German when it comes to tightening things down. I broke BOTH keys that came with them, and now I don't have ANY way of getting them off. Hope I don't have a flat, lol.

BTW, if you view this Mike .... where did we get those? I can't remember. Maybe they will send me a new key or two.

Hmmmm, good thread idea. Especially if you have a fresh car to start modding.

    I'm subscribing to this one.

The Mac products I bought, the pullies (rusted and have cleaned and painted over a few times now), H pipe (total hunk of crap), and shifter (eh..its better than stock and has stops).

I hope to either cut up the O/R H when I do longtubes and make it work, or just save and get a bassani or magnaflow mid pipe. On the shifter I plan on saving for a MGW when I do the astro/gforce super alloy setup. The pullies after this last clean up they should be good for awhile so they will stay or I will go back to the stockers.

aftermarket clutch cables, finally got a good quality one from MM.

breaking down in the middle of traffic because of a simple metal cable has to rank up there in pissing me off

The ones I hate are the ones done by the previous owner:

    -Mac equal-length headers:
    a) They're getting rusty
    b) Individual flanges that don't align after they've been taken off
    c) They're an absolute WHOAR to work around and install/uninstall
    d) They were designed by the devil himself. Jesus hates me for having them
    e) They wreak havoc on the #3 and #4 plug wires and make for frequent changing
    f) Underhood temperatures get ridiculous

    - Underdrive pullies
    a) Don't allow the alternator to charge properly at idle with headlights on

    -Mac cat-back
    a) Sounds awsome, but drones like a mofo. I got used to it though, no plans in swaping out any time soon

There, that was my rant. I'm pleased with the other mods on the car, so far.

    I dont like my:
    Projectors
E-cam (with out a proper tune its tough when stuck in traffic for hours it just wants to stall)
Polished aluminum cobra r's-tough to keep clean very labor intensive!
My FRPP 340bhp 302 crate motor
-Not that its bad its just that for the $$ I could have done better after blowing a few holes in my stock block. The heads and cam just are sub par when compared to other parts. Im stuck with it now and just because it wont get my car down the 1320 as fast doesnt bother me much anymore as I am moving to Kart Racing. Now shes a daily driver only on nice days.
    BBK Cold Air Intake
Pro-M CAI- the air temp sensor and return vacume line are lined up and too close together which hurts daily driving. Too bad because its a really nice piece-fenderwell intake all ceramic coated and it looks great.
My mac headers and O/R h-pipe leak because they dont fit my t56 trany brace-but i love the trany enough to look past that!
    I guess thats it

I sorta regret buying my '98 cobra rims, i should have waited around for a nice set of 03/04 polished cobra rims. I'm perfectly happy with all the mods I have in my sig.:)

all my bolt-ons work nicely together, the exhaust sounds incredible, the cam and intake make crazy power past 3000rpms, and the gears are perfect because i couldnt decide between 373s and 410s

i regret ever sinking any money into that beast of an automatic... i also kinda regret buying the mac CAI only because it was a waste of money for hp vs cost, but it looks decent so i guess its ok. i also regret even replacing the front door speakers from the mach 460 with pioneer 3 ways, it sounds so much better than the stockers especially since the stockers were blown) but now if i turn the volume up with the top down the "pop" and go silent for like 10 seconds. damn stock amps and idiots at C.C. :nonono:

I never should have bothered with Explorer parts. I wished I had just saved and waited.
