Hey guy's, I bought an '86 LX Convertible automatic V6 and want to know what you guy's are doing (short of a V8 swap) to get more horses out of these pony's? Thanks.

There are not many 80's sixers in here, so I don't know if everything is the same. Anyways, to get more power from the 3.8 you could p&p heads and the intakes, and get a custom cam. Another choice is to supercharge it. Basically that's it.

What would that entail? This is carbed. Looks like the carb has injectors in it. What must be done to install a supercharger?

Go to Vortec's sight and read one of the install manuals. For a carbed engine, I would imagine would be easier as far as the tune goes. See what they have to say in the 5.0 forums.

Point me in the right direction. Everything Vortec that I have found is GM related.

yeah other than going the old school v8 route as far as cam heads carb and manifold.

Otherwise maybe you can convert to a SuperCoupe 3.8 SC setup.
