Hey guys, what would it sound like with Thrush Turbos dumped on my 95? Everythings stock engine wise(for now) but I was just wondering what it would be like. I have a set of flowmasters on it now but they're really crappy and quiet (they came with the car) and the Thrush ones are only like 20 bucks, what could happen? Any opinions?

I haven't heard the Thrush mufflers, but if you still have cats, either one is going to be pretty quiet. The biggest difference in my car's sound came when I put my offroad X on.

I want to get and off road h or x pipe....is there any real differences? I'm not looking to build an all out race car but and street car that will still haul ass in the 1/4 on the weekends. H pipes seem to be cheaper but do they restrict the airflow more than an x pipe?

Put your money in a midpipe man. That is where the biggest change will come from. X vs. H is all a matter of opinion. Most people like H's with flows though so if I were you I would throw on an h for dirt cheap and it should sound decent with your flows.

Thanks, I guess I'll keep the flows and get an h pipe from jegs or summit for real cheap.

this is your best bet for a budget, also, if its still not what you want, hack off those tails and put some turn downs on it, that will change it alot as well

I was also thinking of that and side exhaust....would it be hard to do that with just a couple of bends?

it can be done fairly easily however i have never been a fan of side exhaust on our cars...especially without the svo side skirts. if you do it without the right side skirts you have to have the perfect tips or it looks like crap imo

    Loud and cheap...

I have $200 in hard parts in my exhaust system...

$99 for the headers, $50 for a used H-pipe (may be for sale later this year as I want to try an X-Pipe), and $50 for my flowmasters with dumps...

Watch the classifieds and read the posts and you will find good deals if you are fast enough. A great place for used parts is over yonder (the other big stang site that most of us visit at least occasionally)...
