Hello All... I finally got my 06 sc-281. She was just built at SSV here in Michigan. I had the pleasure of going to SSV yesterday to see my car getting converted. The car was delivered right from Saleen to my house late this afternoon. While the car was at SSV i was lucky enough to have the car signed by Steve Saleen. The car # is 202 which I was able to reserve back in August when I ordered the car. It is white/blue/white color combo. It has the Shaker 1000 audio system and the Charcoal IUP. The Saleen options are HID's and the Wheel and Tire Upgrade package. I have added some pics to this post. Its a snowy here in Michigan so it will be a few months before I get to unleash the beast for her maiden voyage. Thanks for looking Brad here is a link to some pics.... I hope this works http://photobucket.com/albums/c87/bebrown1075
Congrats!!! she looks awesome. really cool yo see them pics... You have to love white car with white rims..!!!!!!!!!!!
nice looking car, excuse my ignorance but why was the car built in michigan? is there another saleen plant now?
Congrats on the purchase! Next step is to check out the Saleen Club of America http://www.SaleenClubOfAmerica.com * Saleen builds in Irvine, and at SSV in the Detroit area.
Thanks for all the nice comments!! Saleen has 2 locations now. Irvine CA and Troy MI. Here in Michigan they build most of the Ford GT and also the Saleen Mustangs. 2005 was the first year for the Mustang in Troy. The Mustang gets built in both CA and MI. hope this helps! Brad
Congrats on the new car and welcome to the forum. Did your purchase through a Ford dealership and they just delivered it to you or were you able to purchase directly from Saleen? Out here in California, unless it's a leftover anniversary car you can only purchase through a certified Ford dealer.
It was all done through a Ford Dealer. They are the largest Saleen Dealer in the Midwest. I work about a 1/2 mile from Saleen here in Troy Michigan and they were able to make some arrangements for me to see the car and what not....... The crew at SSV in Troy are just top notch and my hat goes off to them. Brad
Congrats again Brad. She's a beauty. Thanks for clearing that up. That one shot with your new car sitting next to that mineral grey car is awesome. I love how you can see a red Ford GT through the windows in the back. Tell me, from start to finish, how long is SSV taking to complete an S/C car?
Hi Marcus... you will not believe this.... But it takes only one day for them to convert the car from start to finish. Now mind you all the body work is painted before that...... but they started the car at around 6:30am on Monday and it was done and test driven by 5ish. They turn out about 8 cars per day. It is amazing to watch it. All the pics you see from SSV are from a Single Day!! I got the car yesterday afternoon and it is perfect!! Brad
: Wow! It takes forever in CA. to get a car done. It must be that California sunshine and a lazy work ethic. Maybe Saleen should move everything back east. The entire show would probably run better. Again, she's a beautiful sight!
Nice, very rare to see the white/blue/white combo. I'm probably going to order a white/blue S331 Sport Truck later this year...
She looks GREAT!! Very nice pic's to - You will love the way these new body cars drive but then again I am a little partial -05-145
