well i went to my local performance shop after taking it to the dealership! The dealer told me that the boost gauge selonoid went out and that there was no loss of power and it was ok to drive around till they got the selonoid in. The performance shop said that there wasnt really a selonoid for it! Well we threw it on the dyno and before we started the first pull, the belt shreds.. ouch. there goes 60 dollars! We got a new belt on and made the first pull.. it made a wopping 202 hp and 250 ft lbs.. got to lookin around and found out the bypass valve  (i think) was stuck wide open.. pushed it back and made another run! 322 and 337 i think.. so nothin was wrong with the car except that its gettin stuck wide open!

i see that you said your belt shred.. is this a ongoing problem for you? I have this problem very often to the point that i can only drive my car locally and i carry 2 belts in my trunk at a time. Ive been to the dealer to many times to remember for the problem but they never fix it... i am very fed up with my saleen.

no its not an ongoing problem, atleast right now.. it was already tore up pretty bad.. i dont think the guy put it on right when he first took it off.. just my thoughts, but the car only had just over 5k miles on it.. my new belt is i think 113 inches.. and was a really tight fit.. another question.. how much boost are these cars supposed to see.. we hook a mechanical guage up when we was there.. it saw about 9 9 1/2 on that.. and i seen right around 9 on my saleen gauge drivin around..

Bro that sucks. You should advertise it as the "Locally driven only Saleen"

I'm only joking. The dealers are idiots. Call MArk at Performance Autosport and ask him the exact belt length for your 03. Are you running the stock pulley? The pulleys could appear to be all lined up at a glance but if they are even mis alignend even by a hair they will throw the belt. Also, belt size, stretched belt will cause it. When you get it fixed you will enjoy your car again. I know it sucks that every damn time you take your car out in the back of your mind you can't enjoy it cause you are waiting for the belt to give.

Congrats on your new numbers. 9 lbs of boost is very good on the stock set up.

No i do not have a pulley and it still shreds, i know it's not b/c the belts are old or stretched b/c even the brand new saleen brand belts shred and they shred worse than the advance auto belts. The car has shred around 8 BRAND NEW belts, the problem really sucks.

    I would try it!!!

Took out 3 belts...two water pumps and an Idler pulley....nobody had any idea what it was...till i changed the tensioner...then everyone knew the right answer....: :D

Look at it this way...nothing to loose. I still have the belt in the trunk and the wrenches to change it, but I don't think I'll need them anymore!!!
