ok guys i need some help on a turbo choice. Here are my planned mods Esslinger D-port head(custom cam to fit with my turbo) bob's ported upper and lower intake...crowler rods, weisco pistons and a tubular exhaust manifold. with of course a 3" exhaust and a FMIC. The guy that makes my custom cams is gonna help make me a cam but needs better specs on the head/turbo.... esslinger says they will set up my head with any spring rate i need....(not a big deal) but in order to get my cam built i need to pick out a turbo that will put me above 400hp but!!! still have some low end..(mainly street car) nor do i want to pick out a weak turbo and work the **** outta it. i was looking at the T3/T4E here are the specs:

    800cfm of flow....
    60-1 compressor wheel
    turbine housing option of .48,.63,.82

basically the same as the t-3 super sixty except if flow almost twice more cfm. and im guessing the bigger the turbine housing the more the lag? is this a streetable turbo that would be spooled fairly soon in the power band......like 2.5-3k?? and have my cam matched with that turbo. does this turbo sound like a good choice for me??

That's a pretty good turbo for your goals, make sure it comes with a Stage III exhaust wheel and use the .63 exhaust housing. If it doesn't come with a Stage III wheel though, it's a piece of crap...the stock Stage I wheel doesn't work with that compressor.

Also, that turbo isn't going to reach full boost before ~3400rpm...nor will just about any other turbo that will support over 400hp. I can get full boost at about 3000-3100 with my hybrid but it's a bit smaller (50 trim compressor) and I'm running my header and such. 400rwhp is about the limit for my turbo though...

Another option to look at is a Holset HY35...dirt cheap (300 or so) and can support ~500hp...should spool about the same as the 60-1 above.

You may even look into a P trim exhaust wheel...the 60-1 is borderline too large for even the stage III.
