I know this has been awhile so I dont think there is much to be done...Last April I bought a low mile(about 500 he claims) 302 out of a 90 gt. Well my plan was to throw some heads on it and swap the engine out of my car with this one. After taking it apart I think it was run with 0 oil for 500 miles.....These are some of the BETTER bearings. Bought it off a guy on corral who goes by watkins. He doesnt want to do anything for me, what do you guys think I should do?

really though, man that sucks, im in the market for a motor and am really worried about getting something like that. got cold feet a couple of times before that. my suggestion is try to talk with him via pm and if he wants none of it, post one of those "so and so is a scammer" threads. that oughta get his attention lol.

Give him a lobotomy, but seriously I would buy a plane ticket or drive to were ever he is and threaten him within an inch of his life. Just to warn you, I tend to go about things the wrong way.

No, I had no idea thats the problem. I took it apart acouple weeks ago, figured there would be no worries seeing as the guy seemed pretty straight forward. As for the rebuild I just pulled the engine in my car and Iam working with that, everything is in MUCH better shape. Iam just going to send him afew more PM's then just post on corral.

Dude, the engine could be totally fresh and still that screwed if assembled incorrectly. Been there, done that, bought next engine from a shop, not a person. Consider it a lesson learned and rebuild/get a new one. Still doesn't change the fact that is sucks.

You grab this engine from a local guy, or out of state?

i know how ya feel, i bought a motor a couple months ago. fresh rebuild. tore the first head off and it looked like someone dropped a valve at one time. ****ed up one of the pistons and messed up the chamber in the head. only thing i realy paid for on this motor was the heads, ported trickflows. just another set back.

He's from Mass, if it was CT I would have let you know not to buy anything from him. I do treat it as a lesson learned and dont plan on buying used parts again.

I'd make a civil case out of it, sue him and make him pay for a pro build
