I'v got a 99 with 61K miles, I'm getting a ratching sound when I shift from 1 to 2 and 2 to 3 only and thats not all the time. The clutch is releasing at the top and comes back to the top, there is no other sound. Some one told me that the 99 has a self ajusting clutch and that it's trying to self ajust, and to just let it ride. Is this true or do I need to get ti to a shop? Thank for any help anyone can give.

Could try to adjust it yourself. While parked put the car in first, then lift up on the clutch pedal with your toe till you hear it click. If that doesn't help don't know what else you can do??
