Okay I am in the process of swaping out my 2.3 Na to the 2.3T. Now the only thing holding me up is getting the torque converter off and on the new engine.
Here is the problem: The nutts that are on the TC Studs are rounded. I have tried heat socket, I would love to use vise grips, but I can not get them in the groove the nuts are in. The only other thing I could think of would be to use a nutt splitter. Not sure if it will fit in that lil channel ford put in the fly wheel. Any suggestions on how to get the nutts off let me know please.

And for those who want to state the obvious solution of swaping to the T5. I will let you know it is in the future just dont have the money for the misc parts needed. I have the driveline and tranny all lined up. Just need the rest of the stuff.

I know craftsman makes these tools that are much like a socket that are supposed to take off rounded nuts, and etc.

Never seen if they work, but they sure do look handy.

Besides, how can you do a trans conversion if you cant get your old flexplate off (friendly poke)

True that.... I hear you I will have to take a run down to sears to see what they have here. If I can find one of those that would be a life saver.
