Yeah im a new 96 cobra owner, the car was sittin' since 03 and i just bought it in september. I changed the oil and flush the radiator, ran the car. After its warmed up it makes a pretty loud humm. The other thing is i dont know the name of the pipe that holds all 2 of the radiator hoses. its right in front of the alternator.
Can you localize where the "humming" sound is coming from? The name of that pipe is called the coolant crossover tube. FWIW, when you re-filled the cooling system, I hope that you added coolant from the little plug (can be removed using a 1/4" end socket) that sits atop this coolant crossover tube or you will have air trapped in your cooling system. Run a search for keyword "burp" on instructions for how to propery "burp" your cooling system of any trapped air...
Well the hum is comming close to the firewall like if its the head, then again it does quite nocking when it pleases. I think the its just need to get well oiled. The reason i ask about the coolant crossover tude is that it has a hair leak, when the car warms up it starts to realy spray out. plus the cap is kinda rusted, already tried to lossen it but it beggan to strip. So now i have to buy one, but no one knew wut i was talking about. (thanks for the help)
