never knew these existed

I was at a car show here in SC. Street Thunder...the local corvette club threw it.

well, as I was browsing around the stangs A certain 2004 saleen caught my eye...the thing that confused me were the cobra badges...I figured the guy just put a saleen kit on it....

After looking at all the documentation I realized that it was an actual saleen cobra....didn't know saleen did cobra packages. number 7 of 17 made.....pretttty rare.

pretty nice car show over all....had a couple 07 gt500s, vipers, zo6 (2 with the 505hp ls7s), cobra r's, all kinds of classics....overall realllly good

I think one of the local forum members has a cobra saleen (99/01) as well. I honestly dont know why saleen didnt start off with 4v...esp. after ford made the saleen a crappy-er-ish buy with the factory 03-04's powertrain 10k cheaper.

I remember reading about the '96-'98(not sure which year) Saleen Cobras in an old Mustang Monthly issue.
I think they sprayed some of them with a purplish Mystic paint.

That's too bad, if Saleen had kept up some of their aftermarket gear, instead of discontinuing them (taillight bezels, wheels, whatnot) they'd have made a bit more money than they already do...

good luck finding them, i stumbled upon them by accident and drove 3.5hrs each way to get them
i'll prob. never sell them BTW

That Saleen Cobra is a nice car and should be worth a good amount in 20 years or so.
