This is my first new car I've ordered, so bear with me. I put down $500 with the dealer, and thought the salesman put the order in for an '08 GT a couple of weeks ago. Last week, I remembered people asking for DORA's when the '05's were coming out, to make sure they were actually waiting for one, so I called the salesman. I'd also read on this forum that Ford was no longer taking orders for the '08's, and were starting to take orders for the '09's. So I sat down with the salesman, who confirmed that it was too late, and I'd have to settle on an '09. We then filled out a dora, with all the options. He then passed it onto someone that said the orders would go in the next day. Isn't there a number I would be given, for confirmation that Ford is actually going to build this car, and it's estimated build date? Thanks, Art
1-800-962-3746..Order processing center..They should have ordered it in your name exactly to get price protection..good luck
They strung me along too. It ended up taking around 10 weeks for mine to come in.. They had told me 4-6 weeks. Good Luck!
Sounds like your salesman sucks. He took your $500 and couldn't order an 08 but didn't bother to call you and tell you. You had to go in and talk with him before he admitted it was too late. I think I would have asked (demanded if necessary) for my money back and gone to another dealer. A salesman should know more than that and certainly should have called you.
