I finally blew up the motor in my old 85 coupe! I'm suprised it lasted this long.
Now for the help. I want to put a turbo motor in it with a 5 speed.
    I have a complete, running 85 turbo-coupe (5 speed)that is a rust bucket.
I also have an 87 tc (auto)that is apart and had the exhaust and turbo taken for another project before I got the car. The engine is in sorry shape and will need to be rebuilt before it can be used.
Should I just drop the 85 in?
Convert to the 87 computer and stuff on the 85 motor?
I kinda want to get this car on the road quickly and do mods as I go along.
I just don't want to gt into a wiring nightmare and then have to rdo it as I mod it.

    Is the 85 an 85 or 85.5?
Does it have an inline or box intake?
I would run the 87 E6,ECU, Vam, and Injectors with the 85 Engine.
Now if the 85 has a box intake it already has Brown tops in it, so you can leave those alone.

Yeah, drop in the '85 engine. That way you'll have a T3 from the get-go, everything else to bring it to '87 specs is easy to do. And you won't have to dick around with rebuilding an engine!
