My rebuilt short block came today!:nice: It is a 5.0L H.O roller cam engine from these guys.

I am going to stab a E303 in it and top it with my Edelbrock Performer heads. My friend has a Fiberglass Model A with this engine combo and it sounds really sweet. The short block was on clearance at one of the warehouse's my work deals with. I got it for a song, the only problem is it is 0.60 over :jaw: Guess it is a one shot deal for this one:rolleyes:

They make .080 overs for 302s....kinda iffy I would imagine.

Wow 0.80!! I thought 0.60 was the limit and that was iffy? I spoke to some guys about RECON and all the feed back was positive, so I will cross my fingers:D Durring bench racing, I can say I have a 309 Cubic Inch engine now right??

The only thing I've kicked myself about my 351W was accepting a .060" overbore block from the rebuilder.

I've spent more time/money troubleshooting cooling issues with that engine, than anything else. I shouldn't need a 4-row radiator and a fan that'll blow you over at 1500rpm just to stay below 220 on a 80 degree day.

Go with something other than an Alphabet cam. They may have been good in 1993, but there are tons of cams out there that are much better.

I wanted to keep with the Edelbrock Performer recipet, and surprise! the E303 and the Edelbrock Performer (for the H.O) have identical specs. :D (Ford's cam is cheaper!)

    Christmas has come early!

I also broke down and bought a Lokar Speedo cable and yet another Autometer Speedometer. I gave up on the electronic, and bought a Mechanical, the mechanical's mounting tabs broke and it fell out (at speed) hit the floor of the car and it now has a nasty dented bezel!! (I had never even got to plug a Speedometer cable into it). This is my last attempt at having a speedometer in my Mustang. I am starting to think it was not ment to be!!

Too bad it will be six or seven Months of Winter:(
I will be driving this Mustang II till then

Holy cow, you shouldnt bore a factory 302 or 351W block more than 4.030"!! They're very thin castings, even with stock bore.

If you want a good cam or valve gear, call Crower.
