I use my 96 cobra as my daily driver. At 80mph with 4.30s it turns around 3100rpms, it may seem like a lot but the car will get 21mpg on the highway. You put a supercharger on a 96-98 cobra at minimal it will be in the low 400rwhp range, setup correctly you will have an 11sec car.

How do the stock internals on the 98's hold up to boost? I have always wondered this.

My probe gt pulls 3k rpms at 60mph and it had 100k highway miles when I got it and the motor is still perfect at 135k, so I dont think you will have to worry about it.

If you are not greedy with the boost and you get a good tune the engine will last. I know of people who have over 100k miles on supercharged 96-98 cobras and the engine is still running great.

I like vortech just because they make such a quality kit. I have had zero problems with close to 3 years the s-trim has been on my 88. Procharger has always turned me off with everyone always blowing seals and leaking oil. Their kits make serious power though and I like how they come with an intercooler. With vortech you can get their aftercooler but it will cost more money. But when it comes to making more power, more money always follows.
