I want to upgrade the door speakers in my Mach 460, they vibrate like crazy. Is it true that in order to upgrade speakers, you also have to do a head unit, amps, and rewire? This sounds ridiculous to do just to change 2 speakers, what do you guys know?

I'm no pro on 460 stuff but I know that yes you can change the speakers only with the stock radio. You should not have a problem. Just pull the old and connect the new ones

The door speakers are 6x8, correct? I was looking at Infinity References or Kappas, these should just plug in and go?

I am pretty sure the speakers are 6x8. Pull the old one out and cross check. Just plug and play, or, ask your stereo guy for the correct capacitors to filter out the bass in these speakers if you prefer.

I just switched my wifes in her 02 and they were 6x8. I used a polk audio 3way and it sounded really good (for stock head unit and amp anyway)
