Hey guys, great forum. I am new to Fox bodies and I am building an '82 Fairmont. My question is this. Can I run '89 Mustang GT calipers with my stock spindles and rotors? I think I read somewhere once that the '87 and up spindle had a different strut mount. I figured you guys could answer this in your sleep. Thanks, Mike.

BTW-I am not interested in upgradeing the brakes per se, just getting them in good working order for minimum coin and I already have a good set of '89 calipers.

Oh, one more thing--I want to run steel wheel with dog dishes. Where can I find 15 x 7 (or 8) steel wheels? From my research, only '85 police mustangs had a wheel like this :( . Does anyone know where I can get a set of stock 14" wheels widened? Just a thought--I guess I could just buy a set of Draglites...:)

Found this in a search. I was about to ask a similar question. Still might.
I figured this was the place to ask as my 81 Fairmont Fox body should be same-same as an 81 era Fox Mustang.

I was wanting to find out the best way to get 5 lugs on the Fairmont.
I figure that I should swap to 87-up spindles, then do the Lincoln 5 lug rotor swap.
    Anyone want to answer?
    Thanks
    Dave

Depends on your reason for swapping to 5 lug, but yes that would be one way to do it.

the Linclon /SVO rotors will not allow any of the concave wheels enough clearance to mount a center cap on. Some wheels might not even fit at all. If you search for 5 lug swap you will see plenty of information on this topic specifically. IMO, if you are swapping spindles, just go with some SN95 ones and get larger brakes out of the deal.
