Tired of hand sanding, and working around the corners and contours with my DA in the engine bay I broke down and bought a cheap (small) media blaster. Oh dear god this thing is helpful. in less than 3 hours I had stripped 30 years of rust and paint from areas I couldn't get to with my DA and was almost impossible when hand sanding with my big hands. The bare metal has been re-primered and now waits on part 2. Part 2 is the removal of the dash, heater, and AC assembly so I can figure out exactly where my EFI harness will pass into the cab. Since the dash will be out of the way, this is an excellent time (due to being able to see what I am doing and better able to reach around things) to remove and replace the original brake booster. and with it out of the way I can finish that area of the engine bay. Once the entire engine bay is rust free I will repaint it some color of black so it doesn't distract people from the engine. Hopefully my brake parts will be in next week and I can have the engine bay 90% finished by the time my days off are up.
I spent more on my respirator than I did my compressor and media blaster combined.. The G/F says I need to get some sense and start spending more on her than "crap and accessories" she thinks the ticket for the respirator is the total for the respirator, blaster, media, filter, ect.
