    Hi.

Had a 1990 notchback i put a 2.3 turbo in about 6yrs ago, loved it buy sold it for money for school, today is my first day of ownership of a 2002 mustang after a school induced economy car hiatus. Surprised my account wasn't cancelled.

Wasn't/still not a huge stereo guy, so i don't know my stuff in this regards so please have a little mercy. I did search the forum first.

Heard the mach 460 is a **** to modify because of the amp behind the dash, i remember having to by-pass an amp on my old notch's factory stereo back in the day. I however have a mach mp3, (attached photo) and haven't been able to find alot of info about it. Is there a amp behind it as well, is it alot more straightforward install compared to the 460 replacement?

I've installed headunits on a few cars in the past, if theres no trick to it, just say its really straight forward, but if theres any hints or things to look out for, i'd appreciate the tip.

Thank you very much for your time, stangnet was great back in the day, hopefully it hasn't changed at all.

I tried the exact same thing when I got my '02GT back in 2003 that you are trying now. Unfortunately I can't tell you how to do it because after failing myself I took it to 3 car audio places and none of them could figure it out either. They said for them to do it they'd have to replace the amps entirely. They are located in the top part of the trunk if I remember right.

did you have the mach mp3 headunit or the mach 460 system, from what little ive been able to find out, the mach mp3 was kind of a rare option (most seem to be base w/cassette/cd or mach 460 or better). But my car isnt a collectors item so i wont lose any sleep.

    Thanks
