i thought GM was in tight with all the police departments? thats why they aways used impalas and camaros? i mean i know they use caprices and crown vics, but for the serious stuff i thought it was gm oriented? ah getting pulled over by a mustang would be better than getting pulled over by a civic or some import crap.

i wanna get pulled over by the viper in texas or the lambo in montana. those cars were all aquired in drug busts...i wonder how they decide which cop get the lambo...heads or tails!

GM was but remember the Camaro is dead. Hardly anyone uses the impalas compared to the crown vic.

It looks like a photoshop to me. The colors look computer applied and that light bar has been scaled down to fit on the roof. That light bar is actually huge.

They use the new design Impala all over the place as Police Cruisers even though it's FWD. It's actually a very good car, my wife had one for almost 3 years and it was 100% trouble free. (Sept 1999 to May 2002...she traded it for a 02 Monte Carlo, same chassis, different skin and it has been equally trouble free)

Now that is the police cruiser I want to spend my shift in. It will never happen, but if those things had the Hemi....wow....

I doubt I would be able to do an 8 hour shift on one tank of gas....lol

how can anyone NOT think it's a photoshop? the 3 "police stang" photoshops i've seen are just downright horribly done.

I am glad to say that you will probably see a Hemi powered police cruiser very shortly. They have spotted numerous 2005 Chrysler 300's in Nevada and Arizona sporting 18" steel wheels and vinyl mat's in place of the carpet. Two distinct features of a police package. I read somewhere that the deal is already in the works.

Actually it just might be on the horizon, Dodge/Plymouth used to be big in the police cruiser market in the 60's and 70's. I know last year Dodge was even sending a few concept law enforcement package Intrepids to different law enforcement departments and dealers around the country. Huffines Dodge in Plano had one on their lot for a few weeks and they were constantly driving it around probably showing it to different Dallas area departments. I think the two reasons it didnt happen was because everyone already knew the Intrepid would be replaced in 05 by the new RWD models with the Hemi and it was fwd which I've heard many departments dont like because of the crap they have to put those cars through the RWD setup is a lot stouter and tougher setup. Although I have been seeing a lot of fwd Impalas lately around Plano and Lubbock, although that car will become RWD and V8 powered on the new Zeta platform in 06 or 07.

Personally I preferred the crown vic as a patrol car , never drove a mustang.
The impalas although good as a family car were scary to drive in high speed situation- especially backing another unit up when u had to "really haul .."

As far as dodge products go , only experience I had was with the grand fury's and they were garbage even with the heavy duty highway packages.
