I'll go to the 1/4 this summer and I should be deep in the 9s. I was cutting 1.8 60' with nitto's and stock rear suspension.
Sorry to burst your bubble but you're not hooking a 1.1 60ft with that car. No way dude. So changing tranny's is gonna put you down to 1.1 60, LOL come on man. Like BlownStangGT posted up, those are times for Pro Stock cars that have 1500-2000 HP. Also you said you ran a 7.1 in the 1/8th mile, that equals to a 11.1-11.2 1/4 mile. No where near "DEEP 9's" like you said. FWIW you need around a 6.39 1/8th mile to see a 9.9x ET. ..I ran a 6.51 1/8th and went 10.09.
Perhaps...but at 661hp/565tq he's certainly got the power to dip into the 9's. I just think he's not getting it to the pavement. I do agree that hoping for 1.1X 60ft times are asking too much though. It seems high-1.3X to 1.4X is probably going to be as good as it gets for those power levels. Especially on a drag radial. With that kind of power, 60ft times and 1/8-mile E/T's, it makes me wondering if its laying down somewhere throughout his power band. He should be able to run those times with about 100hp less than he's making now. What were you trapping at in the end of the 1/8th OX?
My times are on my stock tranny so I granny shift the hell out of it so I can still be able to drive it to work everyday. When I can afford a built tranny I will be in the 9s easy.
No doubt that your car has the power to dip into the 9's, but a 1.1 60ft seems very far fetched for any street driven stang, even a fully gutted fox body....
