Well, I popped my drag strip cherry today! Todd, Tony, and Nick were there in the 4.0 corner!! We kicked ass!! Todd and I spanked many a GT and Mach 1. What I learned: Third is sometimes hard to find. My car's weakest link is her driver. Do not let off the gas until after the 1/4 mile mark. Listening to the Prodigy's "Smack my **** Up" helps my time. Okay, my best run was as follows: RT: .067 60: 2.060 (need to get DRs) 330: 13.159 1/8: 8.587 MPH: 84.14 1000: 11.084 1/4: 13.159 MPH: 109.21 And remember, I am on the stock tires that came with the Pony Package. My first run EVER was a 13.6 @ 102.28 (took my foot off the gas) My worst run was a 14.19 @ 105.86 (ground 2nd, missed 3rd). My other runs were 13.370 @ 108.15, 13.835 @ 108.85, 13.642 @ 108.37, 13.7 @ 106.42. I staged against Todd almost every time. Todd walked me every time we staged!! All in all, a great time!! I am going to replace my shifter and see if I can get in the 12's with that. Next year, DRs..... MSP, time to get to the track. No amount of preparation and procrastination is going to help you shift that fast. You just have to do it! To those who race regularly, I see why!!!
Nice job man!!!! You did amazing on your first time out. I'm impressed!!! And on street tires. I know after you to put some DR's on Jez, you will be in the deep 12's after some practice. Any way I can convince you to go shifter and DR's this season? LOL.
This is incredible, especially on P-neros! You'll be in the 12's in no time at all! Whatta fun day!! Congrats!!
Thanks, Firestang, but you still got me beat.... Too bad you weren't there to give me some shift pointers.
Here are my major mods: Pipeline Turbo running 9.5 lbs of boost CHE LCAs, UCA, Panhard bar, and Brace Girdle Detroit TrueTrac 3.73 FR Gears (I have heard that 3.55 would be better for Turbo, but it was too late) JBA Mufflers (not major, but nice sound!!) Next I plan on DRs and a new shifter. Hurst or Steeda?
