I was changing the rear shocks and noticed the car I bought didn't have quad shocks. I went to order some and all see online is the brackets attaching to vehicle, my car has no angle brackets coming off axle. I bought the car as a rolling chassis since the guy I bought it off of blew the engine and tranny at track. Question, is it a 8.8 rearend? or did early 8.8s come with no brackets? Can I put quad shocks brackets on or more like welded on, since the car wheel hops under hard acceleration. Or there a another solution?
What year is it? '86 was the first year the Fox Body got the 8.8 with the V8, besides the SVO which all had 8.8's. 7.5" axles don't have quad shock mounts. If you have GOOD aftermarket Lower Control Arms, then you don't need quad shocks, I have had mine off for 2 years, and never EVER had wheel hop or any problems for that matter
Somebody must have already have already did away with the quad shoks on that car before...doing away with the quad shocks allow you to run a little bit wider slick.
What are MM LCA's? I assumed they are Maximum Motorsport's lower control arms? Will this take care of the wheel hop, I try it.
They come with a urethane bushing on one end, and a sphereical bushing on the other. i put them on my car, not more quads, and side to side movement really stopped
