When I release my clutch I hear a screech. I just changed my belt and the clutch stills feels good. My 1999 Cobra only has 42k on it. What do you think it is? Could it be that I need a Steeda Clutch Adjuster Kit (96-04), make sure my belt is tight, or replace clutch and my throw out bearing? Thanks for your help. :SNSign:
Subscribing. I'm having a similar screech if I'm not gentle taking off when releasing my clutch. I have no slippage at all either. Are you running stock clutch still? I have like 7k on my Spec Stage II and it's been doing this for the last 1k miles. I wonder how common this is?
Yes, I still have the stock clutch in with 42k. I'm starting to think it's the throw out bearing. What do you think?
Thats odd.... sometimes when i let my clutch out, i hear a screech, my car goes sidways, and people honk at me like im an *******. Then the screech goes away and my car straightens out.
sounds like either the TOB or the pedal assembly itself. my 90 GSX has a slight noise like that coming from the clutch master cylinder rod. My GT's TOB is going out (has been for the last 20k) and makes noise all the time, however the clutch still holds/grabs awesome.
I would have thought a bad TOB would make a constant cricket chirping noise when the clutch is disengaged (pedal released). My last clutch (King Cobra) did this all the time. The current noise I'm hearing only occurs if I'm not gentle on engaging the clutch (releasing pedal)..the noise almost sounds like a croak, or a moan. The noise happens just once and when the clutch grabs everything is fine.
