Any other Ontario, or Quebec guys thinking of coming out for it? This one's being held at the Elliot Lake 1/8th mile Airport strip and as always, it should be a blast. I haven't been in a couple of years, but it's always a great turn out, with plenty of fast cars and lots of rice to build your confidence. http://www.elliotlakedragway.com/links.html I'll be there putting the Cat through her paces. And I've got cold beer in the fridge for any fellow Stangnet member who's willing to make the trip.
I guess it's just as well nobody showed up. It got rained out all of Saturday and most of today anyway. What a experience. I spend $100 to make 3-runs. On top of that, some clown blew off his bottom radiator hose the first night and puked antifreeze all over one lane of the track. Instead of giving the cars a more thorough tech inspection (he didn’t even look under the hood of mine because he said it was “new enough” ) the genius running the event decided now that nobody could run antifreeze in their car at all....only water. That's great, but what are 80% of 200-plus competitors that are already camped out there for the weekend supposed to do now? I said **** it and never went back after the first day. And on top or that, the track prep was horrible. The best I could cut on street tires was mid-2.4X 60-footers. Even the guys on drag radials and slicks weren't getting much better than 2.0X's. I won't be doing that again. .....Grand Bend, here I come.
That looks like it was major Only water, no antifreeze ! wtf. Not sure the street cars wanna do a flush just for that. And yes those 60ft suck ass. Too bad you lost a 100$.
Just got back last night......came in 4th place in a field of over 200 competitors in the street class. I'm psyched!!!
Well...didn't do as well this year, but it was still fun. Ran consistent 8.3-8.5's Had a little issue with red lighting this year though. Gonna have to stage a little shallower next time.
