    I had a 1993 Capri XR2

Was one of my favorite cars. Was the car that convinced me FWD cars could handle well.

Drove it to Florida and back several times.

I had a 2 1/4" exhaust and my dad and I cut out bottom of airbox, put a K&N airfilter in it and ran a GM truck air intake hose to down by bottom of bumper. Car accelerated like a rocket. Cant breath well through that tiny fender opening.

I sold it because turbo went out and passenger rear brake spindle went out. Never could get a rear spindle and was still looking at turbo and engine rebuild.

Mine was Teal green with grey interior and white convertible top. Had excellent heater too. One winter it was really really cold and I was sitting in parking lot to pick someone up and had heater going full blast. I was suprised when I felt roof and had condensation frozen to roof but rest of car was comfy.

    Had nice stereo too.

I had lots of people who didnt know what it was and asked me what it was and complimented me on it.

If I could find another one cheap, even a regular Capri XR2 I would buy it. Was a very fun and economical car.

    Me too!

    I just got a 91 XR-2 myself.
It smoked like a wild fire but have narrowed it down to bad seals in the turbo.
Have 2 more projects ahead of it but I could not pass up the price.
Hint: I found a receipt for a set of new tires and they have 70 miles on them...
I paid $200 less than the new tires cost.
