Well it really isn't possible for me to get into an 03/04 yet so I was thinking about what else i could do to make my 98 as quick/faster. The problem is I owe $14,000 on the current loan and it has 55,000 miles. Haven't had any engine or transmission problems ever. I'm where I need to decide if i am gonna keep this car for a long time or get rid of it for another just so I don't owe more than the car's worth. I am thinking about a supercharger if there was a way I wouldnt be spending more than $3k because I may be stupid enough to put it on my credit card, or is that a bad idea? I have a crappy bronco II to drive when it's *****ty out but I would like a nicer everyday/bad weather car. Nitrous is probably not good for the car in the long run. a 6-10psi procharger wouldnt be a bad idea. this guy at work says he has an intercooler for one already and says it would work on my car. my 4.10s arent installed yet. With a supercharger, it would be smart to keep the aluminum driveshaft though right? but maybe not put the 4.10s in? Any other ideas? I don't wanna spend sooo much but I'd like it if my car was in the high 11's. it'd be sick. let me know.:D

for the money go with NOS. I would not use a credit card to make a $3K purchase. It will take you a long time to dig out of that hole, been there done that, never again. Save your money and pay for it as you can. That's what I did. Used my overtime money.

Yellow Vert...Nitrous is safe as long as you have a great tune. It is cheap as a power adder also. A supercharger would be nice, but the bill is going to be expensive. Mine was 5,300,...1,000 bucks more than planned, because I did injectors, big radiator and I needed a new gas tank too. Those parts there were about 940. Anyways, if you get a supercharger, the U/D pullies must come off, and the stock ones must go back on. Another thing...install the 4.10 gears, they are a big difference. About the driveshaft, I saw NO DIFFERENCE between the stock one and my aluminum one. The car ran the same times, and I didn't have any vibration problems, so that was not a factor. If you have it already..install it, but if you don't have it, don't waste your money on the aluminum D/S. Hope this helps.

I've had the gears, driveshaft, installation kit, and speedometer gear for a while now. As soon as the snow ends I'd get them in. I just don't want my highway racing suffer because of it. I raced that guy with a 450hp VR4 and kept up and beat him one of three times. But those were all from a roll. I mean with the gears I'd def get a better jump but then I'd die out for a bit. The 96 beat a C5 on the highway with the 4.10's so i dunno; it can still hit a high top speed, just took a while. you think a chip would do me any good at this point? The Diablo Predator thing right? $400.

No sound clips. maybe if my friends could get a clip on their phones or something. i always loved flowmasters until i got the bassani. it's even louder, better quality and sounds like a race car when it's floored.
i paid $445 for the cat back and $250 for the x pipe on ebay.

answer me this why do you street race from a roll. Real racers start from 0 mph not 30, 40,50 . generally on NOS a bottle will last around 10-12 1/4 mile passes. SCT excaliber IMO is the best

well when you're on the highway and someone pulls up next to you, i don't think there is much of a choice. that's is where 90% of them happen anyway; for me at least.

yellow--- Chips are for tuning rev limiters, air-fuel ratios, spark curves things like that. 96-98 Cobras with bolt ons and chips won't be any different that 96-98 Cobra with bolt-ons and no chips. If you get a chip get one for sure if you install the nitrous system. Don't buy the plug in your self kind. Go to a shop where they have a dyno and a reputable tuner. The car will hold up just fine with a 75 shot. You should see 40-50 HP at the wheels with a 75 shot. I personally would be more concerned of how your cars takes things off the starting line to the 1320 mark, not off a 80 or 90 roll. My 96 Cobra will loose to a lot of cars from a roll at that speed. My 97 with a 3.73 and no blower will probably beat my 96 Cobra with the supercharger at an 80 roll.

well i might as well make an appointment to get the gears in. unless i sold them and got a nitrous kit in their place. but then i would need a tune, etc. and that's more money i don't have. my car already feels faster than my 96 with 4.10s. i think i have about 30hp more than the 96 and now the gears should get it goin.

also if down the road i got nitrous and you set it on Wide Open Throttle, do you flick it on while you're racing? i'd think you'd only wanna use it in 3rd and 4th gear?
