I was noticing that the rearend/axle is mounted under my car about 1/2" off center. The passanger side wheel sticks out just a little further. The rearend was removed from the car at one time. I would like to slide the axle over and center it. I also want to make sure it stays lined up front to back. I noticed the rubber pads between the leaf springs and axle are looking a little rough. Does anybody make something to replace this? What about something to lower the rear end an 1"? Any suggestions or tips on doing this would be appreciated.

Some people have replaced the rubber pads with aluminum blocks. They are kind of like poly bushings in that the material is much harder and therefore you get less deflection. Also you can lower/raise the rearend using these blocks in the right locations.
